Barn Rules
Courtesy, Common Sense, and Safety
- The facility grounds are to remain at all times suitable for other persons. Refrain from all conduct that is belligerent, rude, inconsiderate, malicious, defamatory, vulgar, or profane.
- Spending quality time with one's horse is precious to each of us. Respect the privacy of others and do not impose gossip, personal problems, or unsolicited advice on others.
- No Smoking, chewing tobacco, alcohol or drugs are allowed on the premises.
- Obey all signs. Closed-toe shoes are required at all times.
- Every visitor must complete the Liability Release and give it to the TMEC manager.
- Supervise your visitors and familiarize them with the barn rules. There is always a risk of injury to persons at any horse facility, whether riding, handling a horse, or simply standing around. Dangers include a loose horse or a horse that spooks, bolts, bites, kicks, etc.
- Leave your dogs at home, unless you have been given permission for a pet visit.
- Riders under age 18 must wear an approved helmet and must be supervised when jumping.
- Riders of all ages must wear an approved safety helmet when jumping.
- Never clamp a crosstie chain to a bridle, bit, reins, or stud chain; only to a halter.
- Keep ALL GATES closed for safety reasons and to protect the hinges.
- Farrier work must be done in the crossties, and all nails & debris disposed of in trashcans.
- An adult must directly supervise children under the age of 14.
- Arena lunging is permitted if done with a stud-chain, bridle, chiffney, or stallion band.
- Please keep horses off the RR tie steps. These are for people.
- TMEC hours are 7 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., 365 days per year. Arena & roundpen lights are off at 8:00 p.m., and horses need to be returned to their corrals by 8:30 p.m. if their horsie neighbors are calling for them (we try to be considerate to our human neighbors). Exceptions to these hours need to be approved by management.
